Alesse
Alesse - an efficient contraceptive
Alesse is a birth control contraceptive pill for women. Known as ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel, Alesse contains female hormones which are combined to prevent the release of the egg in the ovary, (ovulation).
Alesse also makes changes to cervical mucus and to the uterine lining which makes it difficult for sperm to reach the uterus, or in fact for an already fertilised egg to attach to the uterus. These characteristics make it a particularly effective and efficient contraceptive. Alesse is also marketed under other brand names such as Tri-leven, Triphasil, Trivora, Triphasil-28, Levlite, Levlen, and Levota.
