Here is a great little device which I have owned for several years now, and is a fantastically efficient ear cleaner and time saver.It is an ear syringe that you simply fill with water when having a hot shower and inject gently into your ears. It doesn’t hurt and you can’t over insert it into your ear, but it is much safer than poking in your ear with a cotton bud.
